artist statement:
I search for the place where body and mind reside. Is it a room with walls, or a
boundless, unfolding void?
Do my mind and body know each other,
or are they strangers, drifting through the depths of my own self?
I search for the place where body and mind reside.
Is it a room with walls, or a boundless, unfolding void?
Flesh-like materials become windows for the psyche,
living membranes through which consciousness is acknowledged.
The weight of the mind stretches and strains these materials,
sometimes breaking them,
yet they remain anchored by the physical body.
These relationships spill into the spaces they inhabit,
echoing the room where psyche and flesh move together.
You are invited to cohabit this space,
to grow familiar with my in-between.
And then, it asks you to remember:
You are not outside of it.
You are the entanglement itself.

Ik zoek naar de plek waar lichaam en geest verblijven.
Is het een ruimte met muren, of een grenzeloze, ontvouwende leegte?
Kennen mijn lichaam en geest elkaar,
of zijn ze vreemden die door de diepten van mijn eigen zelf dwalen?
Ik zoek naar de plek waar lichaam en geest samenkomen.
Is het een kamer met grenzen, of een eindeloze ruimte die zich steeds opnieuw ontvouwt?
Vleesachtige materialen worden vensters naar de psyche.
Levende membranen waar bewustzijn zichtbaar en voelbaar wordt.
Het gewicht van de geest rekt en vervormt deze materialen,
soms tot het punt van breken.
maar ze blijven verankerd in het fysieke lichaam.
Deze relaties vloeien over in de ruimtes die ze bewonen,
als een echo van de plek waar psyche en lichaam samen bewegen.
Je wordt uitgenodigd om deze ruimte mede te bewonen,
om vertrouwd te raken met mijn tussenruimte.
En vervolgens vraagt deze ruimte je te herinneren:
Je staat er niet buiten.
Je bént de verstrengeling zelf.
